New use for the old Rice Barn

Traditional Rice Barn De Siam Chiangmai from Chiangmai to be used as Painting Studio in a new location at Bangkla, Chachoengsao Province, Thailand.

Though small piece of work, the architect aims for a conversion of this beautiful old barn to achieve a subtle but ‘eye catching’ result . Respecting the inheritance and beauty of old barn which is raised on large and rugged wooden stilts, by introducing contrasting materials with modern design and details , i.e. frameless clear glass enclosure, glass skylight, metal sheet stairs, gives new look and provides interesting spaces for new functions.

To have passion for traditional value and new technology, for old and new. Thoughtful cutting edge design and fixing details make two beautiful but opposite characters play along side one another, resulting in a modern 21st. century of design.
